√ Do hire a patent lawyer to draw-up a Non-Disclosure Agreement if there is any aspect ofyour proprietary information you need to disclose to a Third Party
√ Do approach your invention as a business venture
√ Do consider and seek out professional and reputable researchers, manufactures and marketers to aid in the development of your invention
√ Do seek funding from, angel investors, venture capitalist, bank, family and friends to fund your venture
√ Do have faith in the Spirit of God’s creative abilities within you
X Don’t believe in the goodness of anyone not to steal your idea, whether brother, sister or deacon in the church
X Don’t let the year grace-period run out if you have publicized your invention prior to patent
X Don’t’ underestimate the power of networking with other like-minded professional
X Don’t underestimate the power of a great business and marketing plan
X Don’t forget to include tradeshows as a viable form of advertising, promoting and marketing
